Garilee Chuma
Account Executive
Garilee was an expert in account management with 15 years’ experience in the medical field before transitioning to construction 3 years ago. In a relatively short time, she has proven herself invaluable to her HOA, Plumbing, HVAC, and government municipalities clients by providing a direct point of contact, consistent follow-up, and an organized approach to vendor management and municipality support. Garilee also serves as a board member for the Maintenance and Superintendents Association (MSA) and a committee member for the Plumbing Heating and Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC).
Edwin Hartwell
General Superintendent
Edwin started his career as a water technician and quickly worked his way into project management. While project managing, he learned Xactimate, which allowed him to begin estimating and managing all his jobs, overseeing them from start to finish. In 1995 Edwin traveled to St. Thomas to help stabilize the island after Hurricane Marilyn. After returning, he completed courses for his general contractor's license and worked in fire and flood restoration. The many areas he has worked in have allowed him to become proficient in all aspects of the industry.
Adam Flores
Commercial Superintendent
Adam started as a trained journeyman painter, drywaller, and finish carpenter which gives him invaluable hands-on experience the work crews recognize and respect as their Superintendent. He’s got 21 years’ experience in both residential and commercial construction including building track homes and large commercial projects. He’s run some of Apex’s largest projects including the Sapphire re-pipe and the New Palace Renovation.
Jon
Commercial Project Manager
Jon brings 20 years of combined experience in the construction and insurance industries and is responsible for the production and financial outcomes of Apex’s commercial division. As a senior claim adjuster in a prior role, Jon handled restoration claims involving HOAs, school systems, homeowners, business owners, and farm owners. Jon works hard to develop the highest quality team available, helping Apex produce complex projects that require quick thinking and problem-solving. Jon’s positive attitude, calm demeanor, and teamwork approach help keep the projects running smoothly.
Joe Kovacs
Production Manager
Joe has over 25 years’ experience in the emergency service industry and construction. His steadfast nature and customer-focused approach fast-tracked him through multiple promotions from cleaning technician, to estimator, supervisor, and production manager. His experience supporting the full life cycle of restoration and construction gives him comprehensive insight our customers appreciate. Joe is the division leader for all emergency, environmental, content, and construction services.
Mike Arebalo
Waterproofing Estimator/PM
Michael draws on over 35 years of experience in the construction industry. With a background in all types of waterproofing, he is also knowledgeable in pedestal paving, performance flooring, chemical grouting, caulking and sealants, air barriers, and specialized concrete repair. Michael’s current responsibilities include expanding Apex’s Waterproofing Division services through competitive and negotiated proposals as well as assisting key clients with budget projections for new construction and restoration projects.
Bojan (Bo) Petreski
Commercial Estimator
Bo has over 11 years of experience in the commercial and government construction industry sector. Focusing on large-scale waterproofing, hazardous abatement, and renovation projects, he is proficient in finding solutions where others see obstacles. Building on his experience and exposure in the public and commercial bidding world, Bo is continuously working on expanding Apex’s Commercial Division opportunities. Working with clients and subcontractors, Bo has utilized his skills and experience to provide competitive, detailed, and successful bids to a variety of customers.
Anthony Gomez
Contents Estimator/Project Manager
Anthony has 10 years’ experience and was promoted to his current position of Contents Project Manager. Anthony deals specifically with pack-outs/pack-ins, assessing the severity of content damage due to water, fire, mold, and asbestos, and is also responsible for developing scopes, estimates, management, and production for all content losses. He is certified by the industry standard estimating platform Xactimate.
Lisa Rivero
Environmental Compliance Manager
Lisa Rivero serves as APEX’s Compliance Manager for Asbestos, Lead, and Mold remediation. She has more than 10 years’ experience including the execution of projects within the private, State, and Federal sectors. As Compliance Manager she prepares, enforces, and audits standard operating procedures. These procedures are executed by Field Supervisor and crews to maintain compliance with Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations. Lisa is also responsible for the management and oversight of multiple remediation crews, scheduling, job setup, and customer service.
Alex Ibarra
Mitigation Superintendent
Alex has more than 9 years restoration/abatement experience and a bevy of certificates such as Asbestos Supervisor, IICRC Water Damage, Firestopping, and OSHA 30 to name a few. He started as a technician and was quickly promoted to supervisor because of his trades skills, industry knowledge, and ability to perform under pressure. As Superintendent, Alex organizes schedules, workflow, and employee development of a 13-person crew for the commercial EMS division.
Mickey Rodriguez
Restoration Estimator
Mickey started as a carpet cleaner/repairer more than 23 years ago and grew up through the restoration ranks with multiple promotions and certifications including Master Water Restorer. Mickey’s current position as Estimator allows him the opportunity to use his field experience to accurately estimate and navigate the insurance world. He’s always focused on learning and improving himself and has recently added environmental estimating to his toolbox.
Alex Palos
Environmental Superintendent
Alex has over 20 years of experience in asbestos abatement, lead, and mold remediation. 18 of those he was working in the field as a Foreman. He is state certified in asbestos abatement and lead. He is also certified through the DOT to sign Manifests. Alex is now the Abatement Superintendent with Apex and runs several crews. He oversees and ensures that Apex is compliant with all state and federal regulations when handling hazardous waste.
Matthew Fricke
Residential Superintendent
Matthew has been in the construction industry most of his life. He started working summers with his father as a laborer. He grew to love the trades and began working at apex in 2019 as a journeyman. After working in the field, he decided to move to the administrative side of things as a superintendent. As a superintendent, Matthew organizes schedules, manages budgets, and maintains the job flow.
Racheal Tiscareno
Senior Coordinator
Racheal started her career in emergency flood restoration. She worked as a flood dispatcher for one year before promoting to a management position, overseeing the entire flood department. She has spent 13 years in water mitigation, 5 in construction for steel framing and drywall, and two years in wood floor restoration.
Kyle Norris
Residential Estimator
Kyle is a San Diego native and a graduate of San Diego State University. He started his construction journey at the age of 18 as a laborer. He quickly became interested in project estimating and began estimating in 2016. His current position allows him to grow his experience in the reconstruction and insurance world.
Joe Willardson Sr.
Environmental Estimator
Joe has 10 years of experience in the commercial and residential construction industry. He brings his attention to detail and customer service to the abatement department, successfully and safely removing hazardous materialists to get customers' homes and businesses back to a safe and livable state.
Meagan Nieves
Coordinator
Meagan is originally from Massachusetts, she moved to San Diego in 2020 with her husband, two daughters, and labradoodle. She brings a strong background in administration from her eight years working as a coordinator for the Massachusetts Dental Hygienist Association.
Liz Espinoza
Coordinator
Liz began her career in the construction industry 8 years ago and within 1 month was promoted to office administrator because of her strengths in organization, follow through, and attention to detail. She’s since expanded these skills in her current role as Coordinator and is responsible for managing leads, dispatching crews, organizing workflow, and administering the company referral program for ~150 jobs monthly.
